Between fen and mountains

Sitting on an orri

I walked through the hunters and managed not to get shot!  They are out twice a week and the warning notices are not on all the paths. There is an uneasy coexistence between walkers and hunters but the latter seemed quite affable as I wished them 'bonjour' walking past their posts (wider view in the extra).  The hunt has been called out up to four times a week recently as the wild boar are causing a lot of damage.  The rest of the walk was uneventful and I had to peel off the layers during the morning as the sun still has strength in it.  The walk went through the mountain village of Fillols with its one cafe and its dogs sleeping in the streets.  A stop for coffee was a fair reward for the effort of the climb.
