Cruel

A very sad day today for the game park.  One of the female waterbuck has lost her baby - well, not lost as such but it was caught in a snare. They are very secretive animals so are not seen every day on our rounds.  However yesterday we saw them and counted six animals. There should be seven and we could not see one of the babies.  Today we went on a  search and found it caught in a snare. It must have been dead for about three days looking at the state of decomposition.  
Then the little spiders have almost all dispersed - well those that survived the first day out of their protective sac. A few are still around, but the 'smile' of black is the bodies of many that did not survive.  
Oh dear.....Nature can be so cruel.
I am off to the Kruger Park tomorrow for a few days so will be totally out of communication. Apologies therefore for non comments for a good few days!
