pistou times two

Second go at the ubiquitous soup today. Think it turned out better this time. Beans, parsley, courgettes, basil, haricots verts and tomatoes all from the garden.

On the way back up from the garden, a stray hunting dog was passing our house. After giving it some water and a bite to eat (which you're not meant to apparently, but the poor thing looked starving!), we phoned its owner using the number marked on the dog's collar. He said he'd be there in 5 minutes.

That's the second time we've returned a lost hunter to its owner this summer. You have to wonder if you're actually doing a good deed at all. Maybe the poor thing was trying to escape and all you've done is put it right back into its owner's evil hands. I do hope not.
