Nuisance
That is how the cottonwood tree is described on a website. A native of the USA it sheds its snowlike seeds in a cotton boll which can clog up drains and gutters. No doubt it is an irritant for asthma and hayfever sufferers too. In parks and large gardens though it is a real asset. A member of the poplar family it doesn't mind wet feet so it is ideal down at the sanctuary ponds. It can grow 6 feet each year and there are a variety of leaf shapes. (Thanks to wikipedia).
This one has "snowed" for quite a distance and it was only a nuisance to me when I kept on spotting a shadow of movement thinking it was a mayfly and it was one of these cotton wood seeds.
Thanks Mr BB for carrying on the widwed challenge.
