The Tatton Sykes Monument
Standing on the top of Garton Hill on the road to Driffield from Sledmere is a monument of exquisite beauty.
Erected in honour of the local baronet, the 120 foot tower was built in 1865. Sir Tatton Sykes was, apparently loved by his tenants and neighbours to such a degree that they paid a fortune to build the tower and it's keeper's cottage to his memory.
