Wojtek

This the war memorial to the Polish men and women who fought and died in world war 2. Wojtek Wojtek - dubbed the "Soldier Bear" - was adopted by Polish troops and helped them carry ammunition at the Battle of Monte Cassino. He eventually was "retired" to Edinburgh zoo.

I do wish that tourists would refrain from rubbing the nose as it causes damage to the monuments.
