Different veins, different shape

You may well have noticed that I am very attracted to leaves at the moment.  This one was in the Cathedral Yard this morning.  There are such fabulous shapes and colours around.  I think this is a maple leaf.  I like the way it only has hints of colour have and still has some life and residual exuberance.  It seems to be a middle-aged leaf.  It's not going out in a blaze of glory descending trailing clouds.  It's gently resting, pacing itself, making the most of its life.

I give you a leaf
with life to celebrate
and admire.

I give you a leaf
Green and gold
for the future.

It lives.  It is.
