Mono Monday

Any picture taken outdoors here today would have come out mono. Or rather blanket grey. We even had a very light fall of snow this morning - it didn't lie. 

This afternoon we went over to Hawick and ended up in my favourite cafe, the Damascus Drum. It's in a former cobbler's shop, and still has various bits of shoe-mending paraphernalia around. 

It also has shelves and shelves of second-hand books, and lots of rugs and other textiles - there's definitely a middle-eastern vibe. The coffee is excellent. And the mezze. And there is cake.  If only they had a fire or a stove it would be perfect.

So it this is my offering for Mono Monday - theme 'Guilty Pleasures'. Thank you, Marlieske for hosting the challenge, and giving us an excuse to indulge on the pretext of looking for a blip.
