the last tomato . . . .

A while ago I purchased one tomato plant and it's borne fruit throughout summer - maybe 20 or so.

Delicious.

Although it was quite a high maintenance addition to the household (requiring 3 waterings a day on occasion), I think it managed to pay for itself.

But it's time now for the plant to be taken out from the porch and put into the compost bin, along with several weeds and the kitchen peelings.

Hmm.

Why do I now think this will be a difficult thing for me to do . . . . I hadn't even given it a name.
