A Day of Remembrance

I stopped for a moment as I went into church this morning to look at this simple memorial to those who died in the two World Wars.

The service began with a time of silence followed by a lone piper playing "The Bloody fields of Flanders" before the laying of the wreath.

During the collection of the offering the very talented lady pianist in our congregation played a  moving Chopin prelude - so suitable for this occasion with its beautiful chords.
