Bhutan - along a winding road

Taith hir heddiw. Roeddwn ni yn y bws o wyth yn y bore i saith yn y nos. Mae'r ffyrdd Bhwtan yn dilyn cyfuchliniau'r mynyddoedd, felly i fynd unrhywle y tu allan y cymoedd  rhaid i chi deithio yn ôl ac ymlaen i wneud cynnydd. Mae Bhwtan yn llydanu'r ffyrdd hefyd, felly mae'r llawer o waith ffyrdd, gyda JCBs a rwbel dros y ffyrdd.  Roedd ein gyrrwr yn fedrus iawn, ac weithiau roedd rhaid iddo fe yrru'r bws  un fodfedd  i ffwrdd o drychineb. 

Gwnaethon ni stopio yn Trongsa i weld yr Amgueddfa ac yn cael cinio. Roedd yr Amgueddfa yn ddiddorol gyda cherfluniau godidog o Padmasambhava. Gwnaethon ni stopio hefyd ar lwybr mynydd gydag eira a  llawer o faneri gweddi.  Mae'r bobol yn gweiddi 'Lha Gyalo' pan maen nhw'n pasio i gyhoeddi buddugoliaeth dros beryglon y daith.

A long journey today. We were in the bus from eight in the morning to seven at night. The Bhutan roads follow the mountain contours, so to go anywhere outside the valleys you have to travel back and forth to make progress. Bhutan is also widening the roads, so there are many roadworks, with JCBs and rubble over the roads. Our driver was very skilled, and sometimes he had to drive the bus one inch away from disaster.

We stopped at Trongsa to see the Museum and lunch. The Museum was fascinating with magnificent sculptures of Padmasambhava. We also stopped on a mountain pass with snow and many prayer banners. The people shout 'Lha Gyalo' when they pass to proclaim victory over the dangers of the trip.
