What a lovely day:-

to Emerge

Today I was invited by the Isle of Man Law Society to attend the unveiling of the above plaque.  I was also favoured with a photograph by the President of the Isle of Man Law Society, seen here.

The plaque records the members and students of the Society who took part in the First World War and is situate in our Court Building in Douglas.  Three members lost their lives and of the survivors I can recall one or two.

A surprising number of the names on the list are still with us today in that their family names are still recorded in the names of Manx legal firms.

After all the formality was over I was very grateful to subside back in to retirement and be grateful for that.....
