The Small Chill

The cold was biting today. On the plus side, and before the really cold days start, I discovered that the gloves and hat that worked so well in Glasgow, just don't make the grade for a Toronto cold snap. And so they are added to my winter shopping list for tomorrow.

Every Friday the five houses that make up our community gather for mass and a meal. This Friday night gathering is becoming one of the clear highlights of the week. In particular, it is giving me the chance to get to know properly more of my companions here. 

Today's picture was taken as I walked to dinner - it brings together beautifully, and shows off well, I think, the many different shades and colours that are now on the trees.
