Three generations together. Carole, Carolyn and Anna. Grandma, Mum and Daughter. Mother-in-Law, Sister-in-Law and Niece. Such a strong family resemblance, the genes are strong in their family!

Together tonight for Carole's birthday meal with the rest of the family. Tall travelling tales, icelandic waterfalls, the psychology of insomnia, the weird world of work, retirement and underage off-road driving all discussed over Italian food.

Carole talked of taking Tess backpacking if Tess keeps doing well with her Spanish and French. I think Tess will hold her to it. And Tom thanked me for behaving, which suggests I must have previously misbehaved. I haven't truly misbehaved in decades. Tales of liberated baseball bats, wandering bar stools, fourth floor window ledge escapades and other shenanigans are best kept to the rose tinted, risk free teenage years, where they belong.
