Golden Wedding Anniversary

Today is the day that celebrates when we said (I do) all these years ago without the slightest idea of what we were letting ourselves in for:-) Like most couples, we’ve had our ups and downs along the way, but mostly ups or we wouldn’t still be together!

The blip is some of our cards and gifts from family and friends taken this morning, before we set off for East Ayrshire and our overnight stay at Dumfries House Lodge. You may remember that we visited the main house a few weeks ago and we liked it so much, we decided to come back for this special day.

The extra is a shot of our (somewhat OTT) room, but it is lovely and warm and comfortable after a somewhat fraught journey here. Between heavy traffic, road works, rain and a satnav that took us off the motorway too soon, it was a relief to arrive safely and be welcomed by the very friendly staff.

We’ve had a glass of champagne and will soon head off for dinner in the Woodlands Restaurant on the estate, but it will have to be very special to compete with the lovely meal we had yesterday:-)
