Little egret

Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . . for natural history

A visit for me to the excellent Museo di Storia Naturale  in Venice while Will went off to do his own thing.

The building which has housed this collection of natural history artefacts since 1924 is interesting in its own right - being a 13th century palazzo which fronts the Grand Canal.  This little egret was on the step outside beside the canal - nothing to do with the museum, but somehow appropriate.

A lovely lunch in a little restaurant nearby and then a visit to another Venetian baroque palace - this time housing the Galleria Internazionale d'Arte Moderna - the Ca' Pesaro . . . . . . . . . . .
