Day 6 - Jaipur

Couldn't choose just one picture again so it had to be three!

We started out early and the first stop was the Amber fort. To get to the top you had to take an elephant, I was a bit scared and also felt a bit bad for the elephant so asked out guide if they were looked after and he said they only take four journeys up and down and then they rest them and feed them for a while before they do their next four. It was quite a bumpy ride our elephant was called rose. At the top the guide met us and showed us around the Amber Fort where the Mahraja lived he had ten wives who each had there own area of the palace within the fort he would then choose each night which wife he would spend the night with, more fool then!

We then stopped at the Anohki museum which showed a restoration of one of the old buildings it was literally in ruins and it had been built back to how it oringially looked.

We then went to the city palace where today's Mahraja still lives with his family. We were shown the building which was built just for Princ Charles when he visited India.

We were then taken to a block printing factory where they make clothes, scarfs etc all by hand with block stamps to put the patterns on. They let me have ago and i did an elephant which they gave me to keep at the end.

We then went to the astronomical observatory used in the olden days to tell the time and know what month and which horoscope it was for that month.

We then went to a jewel factory where they cut and polish gems and jewels, they showed us how they cut them down from the rock and make them into jewellery.

We then stopped to take a picture of the palace of wind which is my picture bottom right it was called the palace of wind because the wind blew right through making it cool.

The last stop of the day was an Indian sweet shop where we got to try sweets and Samos which were very yummy.

We got back in time to have a sit by the pool and chill which was lovely after a busy day.
