Dark-eyed Junco
Yesterday's snow was still on the trees this morning and the birds were storming the feeder. This little Junco was waiting for the other birds to spill seeds to the ground for him. They are ground feeders and I've never seen one even land a feeder. When there is snow on the ground, I spread seeds for them in a corner of the garden that is protected by an eave. It's funny to see them chase the squirrels away from "their" seeds. I'm always happy to see them arrive to spend the winter with us. :-)
Many thanks to Cailleach for continuing to host Wild Wednesdays! And thank you to everyone who visited my journal yesterday and sprinkled stars and hearts!
