Cristobal Balenciaga

Visited the V&A with a friend down from Edinburgh. We looked round the Balenciaga exhibition. A fashion designer famous in the 50s and 60s for pushing out the boundaries. He was the first with the shift dress in the mid 50s which the Daily Mail called a shapeless sack that would never be popular with women.  Just proves  that the Daily Mail does not know what it is talking about. Many of his designs were completely over the top but I thought this silk hat from 1962 exquisite. If you are interested- more info here.
