Back on the moor
I know my blips of late have seemed to revolve around the ponies that run wild on Dartmoor and the Drift. For this I make no apologies. This last week saw the sale of those which had been rounded up, at Tavistock Market. It was reported that many never sold at all and of those which did, some only fetched just over £10 each.
It was therefore nice to see this group of ponies on Whitchurch Common, whose tails have been cut short, which indicate they have been through the Drift, checked over and returned to the moor. A report in a local newspaper stated that there were only around 800 now on the moor.
