We were in Milan for mum's 60th birthday celebrations. I think if we'd only gone to this one restaurant, La Bagutta, while we were there, it would have been enough. Great food, genuinely friendly staff and traditional surroundings all made it one of the best dining experiences of our lives. Luckily mum, Carrie and I all love our food and sparkling wine, so we all felt like we'd had a real treat.

The rest of the day was spent shopping, walking, eating ice cream, walking, drinking coffee, walking, taking trams, walking, enjoying the company of friendly Italians (they were so nice!), and a little bit more walking :)

I think mum had a great time and that was the main aim of the trip; brilliant that my sister and I loved it too :) So class for M-C to have experienced it as well - we'll be able to show her the photos when she grows up!
