Sometimes...
...I hate Apple...
I did this morning. I woke up early 3am to get a head start on something. I was going to have a sleep after I did the first bit and then was going to wake again. mid morning. I am better at doing big stuff in bite size.
Anyway, I got an email reply off an app developer because Apple had kept giving me messages that this app wouldn’t work with IOS 11. It said developer needed to update the app.
So, I need that app. It is a brilliant app called Wordflex. I am not very good with words and dictionaries, but I use this app a lot.
Anyway the developer said the app would be fine if I updated my iPad to IOS 11.
So seeing as I felt like going back to sleep anyway I left iPad updating. Woke up about 5 and I thought I could start work again on my iPad. But alas.
iPad wouldn’t let me get beyond putting my password in. Password was fine. But each time I touched the next button, it went back to password.
Last iPad I had did something similar. It crashed at the update and I couldn’t do anything with it. It was too far to an Apple store, so I paid £50 to a computer shop to reinstall the whole iPad from scratch. They had to Apple machine to do it with.
This iPad is going to work now. IT IS! I am not having any of these shenanigans. But nothing I could do. I was sorry I did the update. I should have waited until I did the stuff I needed to do on it.
I am trying every which way, and I have no idea exactly what I did at this point. The password was correct. I had my password book with me. So I tried the forgot password button. After a few more shenanigans it let me re set my password, but where was this going to leave me? Locked out of all my Apple devices and phone?
This was the oh ?£&@ moment.
It let me in. Crisis over. And it let the rest of the update go through. But it made me put my new password in goodness knows how many times. Each time saying something like you still can not access some stuff. But letting me use the iPad in between for half an hour or so before it asked for the password yet again. Finally after about the fifth time it stopped asking me to keep putting me password in.
But then I still has the same problem with phone and ancient iPad IOS 5. Each one made me sign in several times, working for a bit and then an hour later asking for my password again. So I wasn’t in the best of moods. So frustrating. And I barely got done what I wanted. I couldn’t get into it.
So, I am going to bed in a few minutes. Have a sleep and start again in the middle of the night! Or in the early hours of tomorrow!
Oh, the Wordflex app worked beautifully. But all the other apps I had which Apple had also said wouldn’t work with IOS 11 didn’t and they are dead as Dodos now.
This is my painting for today. I used the SketchClub app on my phone screen!
