A Giant's Work?
Now that both the sheep and their lambs as well as the cows and the cow-boys are safely tucked into their respective winter shelters, we are free to walk almost anywhere in the nature reserve. So we did the second oak meadows today. Last time we walked here, Nellie's mum saved the stray sheep, so it wasn't at all long ago. But now all the fields are empty.
On the way out, we discovered that someone - possibly a giant? - had dug a long row of gigantic holes along the path. I mean really really big. I do wonder why. Mum says maybe new trees are going to be planted. Maybe.
In the evening, we went to grandpa and grandma for a crab feast! It's not as traditional as crayfish parties, but it's still nice. It takes the humans a long time to open the shells so they can eat the good stuff inside, but they seem to enjoy the process as well as the actual food. Heavy duty pliers had to be brought in from the toolbox. I got both a pimped meatball and some crab meat!
