Another Hole in the road

This time caused by a massive water leak. It happened on Friday Night, it was so bad the road collapsed, and a nearby bungalow had to have sandbags against her front and side door to stop the water coming in, it also flowed like a river down the street opposite (in the picture). I saw the police car at the bottom of my street as I let the dogs out at around 11pm, but it wasn't until next day I found out what had happened. Lucky for us our water supply didn't seem to be affected, unless they turned it off during the night. They have repaired it temporarily until Monday, so the road has been closed all weekend and still is. Funny how many people don't take notice of the signs that say "Road Closed" one chap took up the barrier and drove on the grass verge rather than do a 5 minute detour.

Last night was horrendous with the fireworks, poor Maddy was beside herself until her calming tablet took effect, I was watching one firework out of my bedroom window it must have gone on for 6 or 7 minutes, quite a spectacular thing but heaven know how much it cost,  They are off again tonight, so that's 3 nights in a row. 
In my day Bonfire night was 5th November end of...unless it fell on a Sunday then we had to observe the Sabbath and have it on the 4th, and definitely NO fireworks on the Sunday.
Today has been a lovely sunny day but so cold. Nice for a couple of walks early on today though.
