South Bridge Vaults

My brother is visiting over the Halloween period and we went on a 'City of the Dead' tour of the underground vaults which form part of South Bridge.  The vaults are not visible from outdoors and most form parts of bars, shops etc but there are still many empty chambers which are cold and eerie.  They once housed many of the poor people in the city and each of the vaults would have held hundreds of people and their families.  Thank goodness housing is slightly better nowadays!
