Clearly Tired

Locally we read a lot about our 'local' hospital, Treliske or the Royal Cornwall, there are articles and nightly news reports of 'failings', being put into 'special measures' etc.
What is rarely mentioned is the increase in local population with the corresponding increase in the elderly ratio without an expansion of hospital beds and facilities to match.
What is never mentioned is the dedication of the nursing staff and by nursing staff I mean those contracted to Treliske not the agency nurses. These dedicated nursing staff work longer hours for less money than their agency counterparts who also have the luxury of declining weekends, bank holidays, night shifts etc.
Paying £350+ per year for car parking, £120 per year to maintain registration, not eating regularly and existing on cold coffee/tea and at least an hours unpaid overtime every working day as they complete paperwork or handovers.

Is it any wonder my wife looks so tired at the start of her shift!
