Oranges and lettuce

Running a bit of a marathon right now, but it'll all be great when we're swimming with dolphins in Florida or celebrating the "holidays". Did I really just use that expression so naturally? The fact you can "celebrate" Halloween or Thanksgiving has gradually filtered into my life, though I personally find it a huge undertaking where previously October to December was entirely Christmas territory.

I feel happy though could do with a little more time with my men. I love this stage in their lives, their kinship and support of each other. I think however, expediency and a minute deviation from "creative perfectionism" as was recently diagnosed by a psychic wouldn't go amiss on my front.

The last two days alone (let me help you yawn), I've
- booked 7 mini family sessions
- captured last minute headshots
- captured a Beatles tribute band in stunning vintage retro with delight that the venue will be displaying my work (if you're on FB, please check those out)
- shot a fantastic fitness programme at trendy Lulumelon Athletica
- booked a last minute lavish Indian birthday party for Sunday
- priced a trip to the mountains for a client's family's Christmas shots
- booked 3 mini sessions in San Francisco (getting the gist: back to my roots as a travel photojournalist)
- booked 3 boudoir sessions for Saturday
- and partnered for a rather exciting project with a fellow Blipper and artisan to be disclosed.
I have to be honest, it's great news and I just feel full of ideas. The Google ranking (#2) is certainly helping things along.

OK the boys! Reuben, stubborn as a mule and I have to say behind his back, prone to a little laziness, is enjoying not getting himself to the potty again. I mean, it detracts from fun and games with his friends, right? His teacher however has been quick to point out to him that this will actually lead to more time away from his friends in the long run due to the time involved in changing. He's shown he can do it consistently, so he's not pulling the disability card on me.

Callum is lovingly referring to Reuben as "my brother". I love the sentiment. His vocabulary too is becoming a little more explosive and he'll often interject conversations with something rather new and special. Showing him some images recently and telling him how pretty the lady is he declared "Not pretty like mummy".

They are great foils to each other. Callum helps Reuben in numerous ways and Reuben is helping Callum in his learning to read. Reuben is an outstanding reader, again, on his own terms. Every new word that's presented to him in a book, he'll question, repeat and remember. Yesterday's new word was "invitation". He'll never forget it.

This evening we sang songs from Grease. Callum gets slightly freaked at Hopelessly devoted to you because that's Mummy's song, the one she sings at bedtime. Talking of which, there's a great creative idea I have in store for that at the Venice High School in LA (aka Rydell High).

And the lettuce? It's coming along nicely.

Oh - iPad 3 just landed on my desk. Was craving the upgrade for work, presentations, software. Thanks Jason!
