Different

The past month has looked different in so many ways to what it 'should have' been like. But politics and ultimately God changed things.

One thing was that I was to celebrate/commiserate (not sure which) turning 40. I had a few thoughts, none of which happened due to friends not being here and my closest friends having left the country. Even today's plans didn't work out but we ended up having a nice time at a park in the mountains. As K said when I was indulging in a bit of self pity, "At least no one's dead." Nothing like being rebuked by your 6 year old!
