Septem Sine Horis
I had just enough time before it got dark, on my way home from Derby today, to take a detour past Packwood House in Warwickshire.
My blip is of one of the painted wall sundials at the house. There are three more sundials and a very fine wall clock here.
The Latin inscription means "except without seven hours" which is generally taken to refer to the fact that during the longest days there are still seven hours in which the dial is useless.
