The aqueduct
This is the part of my journey home from work that I hate the most. The dreaded aqueduct!
Built by Hugh Baird in 1822, the Slateford aqueduct is 600 feet (180m) long. It actually looks pretty in this picture with the clouds reflected in the water but its actually 180m of hell.
You never get a straight run across. You always meet someone coming the other way. Cyclists are supposed to dismount, but we never do. Every day I think i'm going to fall in. I am so accident prone I know it'll happen one day!
Tonight I ran home so I didn't have to worry as much - I'm far more confident on my feet than 2 wheels!
