Tall Trees

We went for a good walk today from Wirksworth, along part of the High Peak Trail at Black Rock, down the Sheep's Pasture Incline down to the Cromford canal, through Cromford, up the very steep Cromford Hill and back down into Wirksworth.

This is up at Black Rock just before we went down the incline which once had a railway with a pulley system for hauling the engines up the steep hill. The railway operated until 1969.
This bit of the walk was like being in a tunnel of trees. The Autumn colours were great but not really seen in my photos too well.

Some of the extras show the gradient.
