Strands
To follow the Clyde east from Glasgow Green is to pass through some of the city's finest edgelands.
Anarchic hedgerows and treacherous river banks, baroque technicolour graffiti, unofficial wharves, the odd flotilla from the Rowing Club (with obligatory breathless sprinter shouting encouragement from the walkway), and fag-break shelters made from scaffolding and polythene sheeting by construction workers who spend most of their time on the other side of the interminable high fence that protects the half-finished sporting facilities being built for the Post-Colonial Games.
One of the few photos of mine that can stand closer scrutiny.
