Maria Dreieichen

It was a public holiday again for All Saints Day. Hubby and I decided to go for a drive and visit one of the attractions that are on our state discount cards. We had to drive past hubby's favourite restaurant on the way so we stopped to see if we could get a table as it was still early. We did get a table and had their huge schnitzels and a beer. I realised when we had to pay that I had left my purse at home which had the discount card as well as all my money. Turned out it was Hubby's shout. It wasn't worth going to the attraction we had planned as we save €18 each by using the card. Instead we stopped at Basilica Maria Dreieichen (Mary 3 oaks) which was on the way home. It dates from 1744 in its Baroque form and is a pilgrim destination. It is small by Austrian standards but typically ornate. There is a lot of blue which is unusual and the organ itself is blue (see extra). The second extra is the church from the side with Hubby for once not looking silly.
