The Mechanic

17C sunny, light breeze and warm in the sunshine.

Maeve the Deerhound and I went for our walk after lunch. We walked up to the church and down the field with the bridle path. We carried on along the cycle path then went through the little field of sheep between the cycle path and the railway line and over the level crossing. Just as we were crossing the railway line we heard a train's audible warning, and sure enough as we walked towards the beach the train went past. 1.39pm again. The tide was out so easier walking again, and still plenty of seaweed. No one at the Fishermen's huts so photos were taken. I also took a picture of the garden that the gift of poppy seeds came from and as I was walking away the lady owner popped out of the cottage for a chat.

It was feeling warmer than yesterday so I decided to go along to the golf course again and enjoy being out in the sunshine. At the course we went straight to the big scoreboard and checked if there were famous golfers or celebrities due to arrive at the 18th hole. First along was Spanish golfer Miguel Ángel Jiménez (nickname 'The Mechanic')who was one of the Ryder Cup Vice Captains this year. He finished in 9th place in the Open Championship in 2012 and has been a regular winner on the European tour. A reasonable crowd was following his group, but I still managed to get a spot near the recorder's hut to snap a few one handed shots. Maeve was getting more attention from the other spectators today. Good job I brushed her before we went out to have her looking her best !

It was very warm walking back along the seafront to rejoin our usual route home.

Later Maeve and I debated whether to blip Miguel or one of the shots from the Fishermen's huts.
Topicality has won the day for the blip, but the other shots are on the overflow blog :-)
