Beverly Place Once More

Norma and I ran into Trisharooni today and we all decided to take Billy for a walk. Trish hadn't been down to the Beverly Place "Street Art Walk" before and so we wandered down that way. Last year I documented much of the art on show but stopped due to general concerns about copyright expressed by the Blip Central blog at the time. For a variety of reasons I now believe that I very much erred on the side of conservatism in this matter.

Every time I walk through here I see many people shooting pictures, I have seen this material on countless websites. Something that I hadn't originally considered is that these works are either disfigured by vandals or else deteriorated by weather over time. The artists themselves must naturally be concerned about the longevity of their efforts - especially when they will not be available to restore them. It must be anticipated that casual photographers will enable their efforts to experience a degree of immortality. The well being of these artists relies upon new commissions. Their work is very often made known to prospective patrons via the internet. Moreover as I shoot the works on show I am standing in what is undeniably a public place.

Whenever I document street art images I shall continue to track down and publish the identity of the original artists - where I can. Where I can't, I shall continue to identify the works in question by other means, if only by their locations. In any event I shall continue to re-iterate that these works were NOT originally conceived or created by myself.  I seek no financial return of any kind by their use on this journal.
