Can You Guess What This Is?

This is the tendril of a vine, one of many that are attempting to overtake the shrubs on the side of the house.  The way they "circle" the branches is really quite amazing.  I remember learning about this phenomenon in school, but I sure wouldn't be able to explain it now.

It's my last week of hosting Tiny Tuesday for now.  I took a quick look at the entries so far, and they are quite interesting, and beautiful!  I hope to post favorites on Thursday.  At that time I'll also let you know who's taking over for November.  Have a great week!
