Not Quite What it Seems.

Today I made the Christmas cake and two Christmas puddings - they are still rattling away merrily on the stove.

Other than that, not much to report. 

Looking for something tiny to photograph, I messed about with this reel of thread. It's ancient - 'Rich Buttonhole Twist', sold by Charles Jenner and Company, Edinburgh, the used-to-be-posh emporium in Edinburgh.
I suspect that the fibre is rayon, not silk.
