not just any old carrots

no - these are my old carrots, sown, transplanted, watered and weeded by me!! My first - ever!

I know this is not really much to get excited about, but it feels like an accomplishment to me :)

In other news, I got a job - yes a job! Started in July - 7 hours a week. I know that doesn't sound like much either, but when you've not worked for 5 years - that also feels like an accomplishment too :)

Sadder news is that A's Mum is not well. She's undergoing some pretty fearsome treatment, and A is staying with her in the Borders for the duration - could be up to six months.

How will I get on without him here? Not terribly well judging by the first week he was away. An outer ear infection had me in hospital and on I/V antibiotics. A three hour ambulance ride across the Highlands is not something I'd be recommending to anyone - neither is aggressive ear hoovering :(

But I'm mostly better now, and will be lurking around here more often hopefully :)
