A stealth visit round a garden!

After some drizzle this morning the sun came out so Ange and I the "sharecroppers" decided it would be a good day to plant the potatoes. Good friend from along the road had arrived yesterday with his rotary hoe and gave the bed a good till over, so it was all set to go. This is not usually my department so not sure if they have been planted too close, but guess time will tell, anyway the bed is planted and we felt rather satisfied.
After a bite to eat, I walked back up the road with Ange and we popped into a very large garden which has some fabulous plants in it, but is now getting very overgrown as the owner doesn't visit very often now her husband has passed away. The contractors keep the lawns mowed and notice someone has been in doing some hard pruning on a number of the rhodo's and other plants, but there were still flowers everywhere and the garden was perfumed by the azaleas and some very old fashioned roses.
Lost myself in it for awhile, as there are just such beautiful vistas. With the backlighting the echinacea was like a neon light, and the bees were buzzing around. Have added a few extras.
My native plants in our garden, certainly doesn't hold the charm that this cottage garden does, but it will take a lot of work for someone to get in and tame it again.
