Autumn Reflection

This was almost my first sight when I reached the Newtown Linford end of Bradgate Park, unusual reflections of Autumn colour in the stream. The photo is deliberately blurred.

Basil and I had reached the car park just after three pm. I hadn't been at all hopeful of seeing any deer but was surprisingly in luck. Two hundred yards in from the gate, a small herd of red deer does with young crossed the stream and climbed the hill on the other side right in front of us. A young red deer stag was in attendance. See extra.

Further on, there was an old raven that seemed to have a cataract in one of its eyes, and a broken wing. It came surprisingly close. It had gathered up berries in its beak. I was wary of it possibly attacking Basil. I'm told that it's very tame and will accept food from the hand.

Returning to the car park in the sunset hour, a waxing moon was rising over the trees to the south and a paraglider soared in from above the ruins of Bradgate House.
