Mono Monday - "Animal"

Animal, vegetable and mineral... pretty sure this fellow is neither vegetable nor mineral, so he fits the theme. Feeding on ivy flowers he's fine and happy, and I don't want to know him when he's not.

Today has been a gardening day again, and the old and woody lavender has now gone from the front garden. Janet's been growing cuttings for a while now and once I've built a new retaining wall and put some more soil in the bed there'll be lavender again for the besties next summer.

It's still warm although the early morning was bitterly cold. The garden is starting its inevitable journey to decomposition and we're in the latter weeks of the year, and Samhain tomorrow. Time for a wee dram and a word with the folks gone before.

We'll all be ancestors once day; of blood or tradition of geography. But not, one trusts, quite yet. :-)
