Acer Griseum

Otherwise known as paperbark acer - and you can see why.  The leaves are turning a lovely red colour, but its special feature is the bark.

I managed to get the second chair finished today.  The mole has been equally busy - there are increasing areas that collapse under one's feet all around the mole hill, which is growing by the day!  And W continues to work on the shelves for the alcove in the little area off the kitchen - they should be finished tomorrow.  So it's been another industrious day here.
