Ghost trees

I thought these trees looked unusual with only the tops still showing foliage.  My walk was cold this afternoon.  I think winter will soon be with us.  I had a lot of report writing to do at work this morning but still managed to get away on time.  I had a look at an uncooperative clock in the afternoon and decided I will have to strip it down again and see what more I can do.  It is one of the most badly worn clocks I have ever come across so I may find in the end that my efforts are in vain. That would be a bit frustrating!
