Not Over Yet

The sun shone again today! 

We celebrated by going to Peebles for  lunch.  I ordered chicken soup with herb dumplings because I wanted to leave enough room for one of Coltman's celebrated cranberry and walnut scones.  But - they had no scones left!!  I will be returning soon to make up for the deficiency.

So, off to Dawyck to console ourselves with a walk over the hillside there.

It is essentially an arboretum, with many wonderful trees, now grown to great heights. There are lots of newer plantings too, and the whole manages a wonderful harmony with the setting in the rolling Borders countryside. The extra  shows the little private chapel on the estate.
