Snubbed.....

.....in a good way.

There is nothing worse than being in your snuggly bed on a boat, exhausted after a day's sailing, and being kept awake by a squeaky rope. Well, there are worse things, but it's still pretty annoying.

However, if you put a 'snubber' (the long, grey rubber thing shown here) on the rope it takes the stresses and strains of the rope and hey presto - no more squeaking!

The Ards Man was doing a bit of refurbishment woodwork on a friend's boat today and I noticed that he still had snubbers on the starboard side, alongside the pontoon. I think they will still be spending winter weekends aboard. I was meant to take the bedding off our boat today to make sure it doesn't get damp and moldy over the winter, but didn't actually get that far. Another time.... soon!
