Fern spores.

As I was watering the garden this evening I noticed the bright red spores on the underside of the fern leaves. These are Autumn Ferns, so called because they have beautiful fall colors year round. Odd to be still be watering the plants now we're in October but warm and dry weather persists. September 30th marked three months with no rain.
