A Nut Crusher

I had to send my Sigma 150-500 mm lens in for a second time because of focusing issues. When I picked it up from the camera shop, I tested it out and it still wouldn't work. The folks at the camera store called Sigma and the Sigma technician asked me to get on the phone as he personally "tested" the lens and said there was nothing wrong with it. I told him that I couldn't get a clear shot even with a tripod. I even had one of the clerks at the camera store try the lens out and they couldn't get anything decent at all. The Sigma tech said I was pretty much stuck with the lens - I asked him to hold and then asked the camera store clerk to pull a new lens off the shelf so that we could try that. Clear focus on shot #1.

I got the Sigma tech back on the line and explained that we tried a brand new lens and it worked perfect. The tech proceeded to say that every lens is different but that he would not let me swap the lens out. My blood pressure spiked and almost had a spout of turrets... When I challenged the Sigma tech on his "logic", he hung up on me.

The owner of the camera store then called the regional Sigma sales rep and explained what happened - She was nice enough to let me get the new lens free of charge with a warranty that started over again (I had the last lens 6 months).

Let's hope this lens works out. I used it today to get a photo of this adorable chipmunk.
