What is that?

Can it just be the unfarmed land at the edge of the cliff, or is it the remains of Strip Lychetts, or an earthwork of some kind, or the result of landslip, or something else?

Answers on a postcard please.....oh, and it's on the cliffs, just above Charmouth...
