Khan Al-Khalili Market

Bb arrived from his mad week of Cairo, Barcelona (Spain), Liverpool, the Lake District, Manchester, Barcelona (Cataluña), Cairo. I had to do my provisional grades for our assessor's visit on Tuesday, so was actually in the British Council when he arrived. He came to pick up the flat keys and managed to get up to the 3rd floor on the lift, with a security guy swiping him through with his card?!! He dropped his stuff at the flat, changed into shorts and picked me up and we headed to Khan Al-Khalili market for a wander and change of scene. It's the city's main souk and we were greeted with the usual 'welcome to Cairo', looky looky', '50% discount today', 'more inside, please look'. We actually have our eye on buying a particular type of lamp, but lost the energy needed to negotiate a fair price for both seller and buyer. I think we'll return with an Egyptian friend in tow.
