Nora Batty's steps!

Today I woke after a lie until 8. It was chilly first thing yet warm enough in the night. It must be mild, because I usually need 3 layers when I'm camping! I washed up and made tea. We had a leisurely morning, walking from the camp site along a footpath, where we found a beautiful canal, lots of locks and a man taking his barge through. The sun was shining, and we found a way back along a main road. A few more caravans have arrived for the weekend. The scenery is beautiful here.

We had coffee then drove to Holmfirth. It is a quaint town, but traffic was busy. Picking up a trail leaflet in the Tourist Info we checked out a couple of the 'Last of the Summer Wine' significant spots, including this. Nora Batty's steps! We also had a coffee at Ivy's Cafe, previously Sid's Cafe. Jon recognised the steps next to the front. We assume it was just the outside of the buildings used for filming. The town doesn't make a lot of their famous connection. We enjoyed exploring and went home to have a late lunch before driving back to get Mollie. The city was a challenge to cross at rush hour!

We got back to the caravan at 7pm where I cooked dinner before we settled down to an evening of games. Starting with Pandemic which we lost, and now Dingbats. This was the first ever game Jon and I bought in 1988 before we got married, but ready for our first Christmas together in our flat. The kids are enjoying it, but it is pretty dated!

Soon bed, and tomorrow we will decide what we do when we see what the weather holds!
